Women Are Regularly Suffering in Silence

2 in 5 women suffer from chronic pain. It’s a shocking statistic that shines a light on what many women endure in silence.

I was shocked when I discovered this statistic as I firmly believe that it is unnecessary to live with such pain and discomfort.

A survey conducted among 1700 women, had women sharing their stories. One shared a horrible account of being prescribed antidepressants for pain when she wasn’t depressed. It’s an example of how women can be dismissed and not taken seriously when asking for support.

Endometriosis is one of the top issues women live with that contributes to chronic pain. It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows on the outside of it. This can cause immense pain for a significant portion of the month.

In addition to endometriosis women also endure heavy periods, PMS, cramps and other period-related conditions that can significantly impact their health and wellbeing and can cause strain on their mental health.

After enduring most of their life having period-related pain, approximately 30% of them start to suffer from perimenopause and menopause symptoms later in life. This includes hot flushes, weight gain, restless legs and irritability.

Despite living with this privately, women continue to juggle their careers, businesses, children, a partner and pets and continue to put themselves last.

Most women have become great at hiding their pain but suppressing it can affect their ability to be their best selves and cause more problems in the future.

Pain can affect their ability to be fully present, maintain focus and clarity, have patience, pursue career opportunities, or grow their business.

It’s sad to know that 20% of women experience such profound fatigue from pain that they miss out on social events and connecting with friends and family.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

If you find yourself living with persistent pain that compromises the joy you seek in life, there is another way to get relief. Book a time to speak to me in private to explore strategies for breaking free from the chains of pain.
